What Are You Waiting For?
The next certification?
Until you know more?
Until your list is bigger?
Until your book is done?
Until you lose 20 pounds?
Until …
I talk to so many amazing people that are holding off creating their programs because they don't have the “perfect” circumstances.
Maybe you would like to host a telesummit.
Maybe you would like to switch from hours-for-dollars to results-based programs.
Maybe you are dreaming of creating that first information product.
Maybe you want to take your thriving coaching business and turn it into a group mastermind so you can reach more people.
Maybe you want to share your story and help others who are struggling with what you overcame.
Maybe you want to put more systems into your business so you can enjoy the freedom to do even more in your life!
You can do all of those things starting today!
Start where you are.
I've talked before about how I am a recovering perfectionist. It's something that I struggled with for years.
But here's the thing…
You can't serve others if your ideas are always in incubation mode.
You can't help more people when your great ideas sit in a waiting pattern!
You have a brilliance that someone needs. You don't have to wait.
How I Let Go of Perfectionism Daily
Originally, when I wrote this post, I kept it short and sweet, but +Tammy Bridenbeck on GooglePlus asked me: “What do YOU do to overcome perfectionism?”
I thought that it would be helpful to share what has helped me. So, here is what I do consistently to keep myself and my business moving forward.
Find Your WHY
What is your “why”? It is your deep reason for doing what you do. I have two really big whys in my business life. I keep my vision in alignment with what is really critical to me:
- My son: David has been modeling after me in his behavior his entire life. As a parent, we see that all of the time. Often we only look at those things that our kids do that make us smile and not those behaviors that are “less desirable.”When I realized that my “playing small” and not really showing up in the world in my full brilliance/power was teaching him to play small, I bawled and vowed to not let that happen. As I let go of perfectionism and allow myself to serve in a bigger way, he is doing the same. (I could share all kinds of stories on that one. Maybe that is a post for a future date.)
- My community/audience/tribe – I realize that just as there are people that need you, there are people that need me! Not in an ego-filled, look-at-me way; but in a serving heart-centered way. I keep them front and center in my view. How can I help them today?
To make it real for me, I have pictures of my son, clients, and contacts in my view daily. Those images remind me how important it is for me to create and share my brilliance/power. In doing so, I'm helping others to be their bigger self.
They Really Are Waiting for You to Step into the Spotlight
Perfectionism is a form of procrastination. Have you ever looked at it that way?
There are people out there that are praying for the very thing that you do. Did you know that?
When you bloom where you are planted, you allow others the inspiration to blossom too.
You can do it now. If you need help, let me know.
Until we talk again,

I so love this post Stephanie! I firmly believe that there are lessons we have lived and messages etched on our soul that we divinely positioned to share. And when we find that place where our purpose, passion and prosperity are all in alignment – we are truly in our Brilliant Zone!

“You can’t help more people when your ideas sit in a holding pattern.” That’s why I just scheduled a live, in person event – “Millionaire Marketing on a Shoestring Budget” – here in Boulder. Now, to get butts in seats.
HUGS and thanks.

Sue – The really interesting thing is that when we let go of our perfectionism, we are able to really serve the world with our blessings!

Good reminder not to let perfectionism drive the car. It’s more important to remember our big “Why?” and move forward with it at the wheel. Thanks!
