One of my favorite groups (non organizing and productivity related of course) is the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO.) I have been a member for a number of years.
I have mentioned before how making time for rejuvenation and recharging batteries is so important. NAWBO is that for me. I go to meetings and meet energetic business owners and listen to great programs. I almost always have a great idea that I’m formulating as I drive home that one time a month.
I am now humbled that they selected me as one of their national spotlight members! You can see more here: http://nawbo.org/spotlight.cfm?mid=14
What do you do to recharge? What groups do you belong to that have helped you enhance your business?
Sleep is critical to productivity, but many have a hard time figuring out how to get enough of it.
Today, I’m going to talk some about how you can increase your productivity and sleep success if you don’t have a sleep disorder. So many of my clients will tell me that their bedroom is stressful.
Is that how it needs to be? Of course not! Here are some things you can do to set yourself up for success:

My mom is amazing. I’m so lucky that I can say that. Not only did she raise 3 rowdy kids, but the home we lived in was always clean, organized and comfortable. We did not have much, Dad was a teacher and you know they don’t make much, but we were really happy and always seemed to have what we needed.
Mom was and still is, amazing at fitting things into small spaces too! She has a great eye for what can fit in a closet or a shelf or anywhere else. She is so good that she has fooled most of the movers they have ever had. They totally underestimate how much she has in her home. She makes a lot more fit into one cabinet than what most would.
So, on with my list! Some of the things I have learned from my mom about organization:

Today I opened up my Dove chocolate caramel bite and read “Test your own limits and keep going.”
Wow! What a great tip.
Do you know your limits?
How do you set your limits?
When you start a new process how do you measure its success?
Do you give yourself enough time to make the changes, or do you give up before it’s time?
Contrary to many “experts,” it takes longer than 30 days to form most habits. I have conducted informal research with my clients and have found that, on average, it takes 7 weeks to get a good habit into form.
I was watching a movie the other day — well, really it was background noise as I did other things — and a part caught my attention.
The character was teaching someone how to look at their situation. She says:
Fear is cold – it freezes us up
Fear of performance
Fear of what people will think
Fear of doing something wrong
Fear of anything
When we let go of your fears we touch our souls.

The other night I was staying at a hotel because I was delivering a workshop this morning. As we always do when I’m traveling, as I get ready to go to sleep my husband and I talk on the phone.
He opens the conversation with this: “My keys are in the refrigerator.”
Of course, that caught my attention and I was curious, so I asked him why he might have chosen that particular location. . .
He goes on to explain that he put the keys in the fridge right on top of our son David’s lunch bag. You see, David normally eats a school lunch, but today they were going on a field trip, so they needed a packed lunch. “I didn’t want to forget it,” my husband said. . . and he didn’t!
Many of us keep all of our to-dos in our email inbox. 100s of emails sitting there waiting for some kind of action. Does that describe you? It describes many people! New emails come every day and the things that you don’t want to forget continue on down the electronic pile. You even have instances where that really important thing gets missed and you are really frustrated with yourself.
So, what do you do??

Procrastination has been a common ailment of just about every business owner I know. Some learn how to overcome it and others struggle with it for years. I have to admit, one of my big vices is warm drinks (tea, hot cocoa, apple cider,etc.). I…
