Successful Leaders Don't Accidently Gaslight Themselves, Do You?

Don’t gaslight yourself!

Be brave and feel your feelings.

All our emotions are valid and valuable. It’s a fine art between processing our emotions and letting a negative spiral take over.

However, equally damaging is pretending we don’t have “bad” feelings, shoving them down, and painting on a happy face. When we try to convince ourselves nothing is wrong, when it is, we are gaslighting ourselves.

If you know something feels off, but instead of giving yourself the space to feel it, you try to explain it away.

You push it down.

You tell yourself, “It’s not that bad.”

You rationalize. You stay busy. You put on the smile.

But that tightness in your chest, the irritation you can’t place, the tiredness that never really lifts…it’s not going away.

This is what happens when we override our own truth in the name of “keeping it together.”
It’s what happens when emotional intelligence gets mistaken for emotional suppression.

Reminder:

  • You can be capable and uncomfortable.
  • You can hold power and grief.
  • You can lead others and still need space for your own emotions.

We don’t create clarity by pretending things are fine.

We create clarity by being honest with ourselves first and then others.

  • All your feelings are information.
  • None of them make you less powerful.
  • And denying them won’t make them disappear.

Feeling your emotions isn’t indulgent, it’s intelligent.

It’s what allows you to move through rather than spiral down.

It’s what brings you back to alignment.

Be brave. Be honest.

If this feels familiar to you and you’re ready to honor yourself fully, without spiraling, stuffing it down, or staying stuck; I’d love to walk with you through it.

To your easy and joyful success!
