The better we plan for our travel, be it short or long trips, the more benefit we can get from our trip. Keep reading for today's travel tip and be sure to share some of your own! Today I'm going to talk about the numbers to have on hand in case of an emergency.
Know the Country Emergency Code
Since a number of my readers are world travelers I thought I'd share a tip that I learned from http://www.sccfd.org/travel.html.
There are a number of different numbers that you might dial in an emergency. If you are in the United States, 911 is the standard. Most of Canada uses 911 too. However, this combination of numbers is not world wide. Here are a few more:
999 – Hong Kong 000 – Australia
100 – Israel 060 – Mexico
110 – Japan 117 – Switzerland

Have Contact Information for You
If something happens to you, make sure that you have contact information for an emergency contact in your purse, wallet or briefcase. It is a good idea to have an emergency contact where you are visiting (even if it is your hotel concierge) and one or two from your home area.
Have Contact Information for Your Lodging and Travel
Make sure to have a copy of the contact numbers for your airlines, trains, etc as well as your hotels. Keep a copy with you and leave a copy with your emergency contacts, too. This way, if you need to change plans quickly you can.
