As I talk with my private clients and colleagues, many tell me that they'd like to get on more stages and get their message out, but they don't know where to start.
Today, I'm sharing 15 sites that you can use to begin your research.
Know Your Audience / Know Their Audience
Before you contact hosts/producers, make sure to do your homework. Have a clear understanding of the audience you speak to and connect with shows that serve the same audience. If you think that your message is for everybody, think again. Take time to get clear and you will have amazing results.
Sites for Your Research
Internet Radio Networks and Podcasts
There are a number of different internet radio networks that specialize in talk radio. Here are three that you can check out.
- Blog Talk Radio
- TogiNet Radio
- WomensRadio
- Contact Talk Radio Network
- RadioGuestList – subscribe and receive radio shows and podcasts looking for guests.
Teleseminar and Webinar Calendars and Directories
There are thousands of experts that host teleseminar and webinar programs. Some are ongoing (the host interviews an expert on a regular basis over the course of the year) and others are in summit/seminar format (the host brings on numerous experts over a few week period.)
- Gails Calendar
- Full Calendar
- Self Growth
- Teleseminar Nation
- Planet Teleclass
- Internet Marketing News Watch
- Free Teleseminar List
In-Person and Online Events
Some sites list both in-person events and online events.
- All Events – Search by community
- Plan Cast – Social network where participants identify all of the events that they are going to.
BONUS: Google+ Hangouts on Air (HOA)
- Live Hangouts – This listing shows you all of the hangouts that are live and broadcasting.
Once You Have Identified Programs, Connect With the Host/Producer
This can be the scary part for many, yet it can also be amazingly effective! When you find a program (radio show, telesummit, etc.) that is a good fit for you and your topic, reach out and offer to be a part of the show!
When you make your contact, share
- how what you have to say will help that person's audience.
- how you will help promote
- etc.
What Are Your Thoughts?
What sites did I miss? Do you think you could try this approach? Have you tried this approach? What do you think?

These are also great resources for folks like me, Stephanie, who offer speaking opportunities.
In March 2013, Stephanie Calahan was our Season 1 featured guest because she got the most votes in 2013 and is a truly phenomenally empowering leader. If you didn’t listen to her, yet, hear the archives over at http://podcast.marketlikeaqueen.com I so enjoyed having you as our Season 1 guest in March, Steph. Thanks again!

Hi Jen – With all of the content you have on your site, you could certainly teach people through speaking if that is what you decide to do. Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your comments on future posts.

Love blogTalk Radio and use webinars onair weekly. Great list of tools and assets. I am always looking for people to interview that can share social media training!
Will dig through the teleseminar links!

Hi Katrina –
Glad that you like the links. There are a number of resources that could help you build a great guest list.
For social media training, I’d be happy to share my story of how social media saved my business. You should also check out Michele Price (@Prosperitygal), Laurie Hurley (@Laurie Hurley), Becky Cortino (@BeckyCortino)
I’d also encourage you to connect with Lisa Mallis (@SystemSavvy). She could be a possible good JV partner for your audience.
(Congrats on jumping in the entrepreneur pool feet first this year by the way!)
